Blue Denim Wrangler Sold & Delivered

Yesterday was a bittersweet day. We sold Blue Denim Wrangler almost two years ago but his new owners were unable to accept delivery for a variety of reasons and we finally delivered him to his new home yesterday.

Blue is a Mesquite son (we sold Mesquite last summer) out of our silver female Minnie Pearl. Blue is so laid back and sweet and easy going; I can walk up to him in the pasture and hug him, scratch his back and pat him. He loves to beg for treats. The new owners have two gorgeous silver/gray females that they are going to breed to Blue and the crias should be absolutely stunning.

Here is Blue as a cria. Can you see why we named him Blue?!

The photo above was taken when Blue was weaned.

The photo below was taken in June 2008 after Blue was sheared last.
And here is what Blue's sheared fleece looks like.

I had a waiting list for Blue's fleece. If I had kept Blue, I could have sold his fleece every shearing until he passed away and still not have made it through the list of people wanting one of his fleeces.

I'm happy that Blue is going to be used as a stud; he'll enjoy his new job and I cannot wait to see how his crias turn out! But when I started up the truck yesterday, Blue watched us pull away and he had a look on his face that seemed to say "HEY, wait! You forgot me!" I couldn't watch in the side mirrors as we left... Love you Blue.

He is lovely, I'm sorry that you had to leave him. :( I like when he is shorn--he looks like a giant poodle!

I'm even sad about having to leave him but he'll enjoy his new job on the other farm. He is certainly gorgeous!

What a beautiful boy! I hope he enjoys his new job/home. But I feel for you! I would have cried all the way home if it had been me. He is simply gorgeous. And with a sweet personality too. Poor you!

Don't Be Sad Brenda, awww, Blue is gone to his forever home. he'll have good company, so you can go visit him and see how happy he is. then maybe you can make a deal to keep giving us updates on his goings on.

Thanks everybody. I'm feeling better about it now. He's close by and I can go visit any time I want. But I would hate to show up and have him think I came to get him, and then leave without him again. So, I'll wait and see.

Wow...he is gorgeous. I do love me some grey animals:) I really couldn't do what you do. I cry at the thought of leaving our cats in a boarding place to even go away on vacation (which we haven't done since we got them). But I'm sure it's helpful to know he'll have a great home and a great purpose.
