Rosie is looking awesome!

Split Rock Champagne & Pearls, aka "Rosie" (I was going to name her Roses, Champagne & Pearls because she looked pink when she was born but that name is SO big, we just decided to call her Rosie and shortened the name to C&P) is now almost three months old and is growing up nicely. Her fiber is not as pencil locked as it was when she was born but we're hoping the lock structure tightens up as she ages. And, her fiber is this incredible champagne color now with silver and dark gray points.

Pricilla: How much land do you have? You don't need a lot, especially if you feed them hay year round, rather than pasture. We have our ND goats in with one of our male llamas and they get along great. A female llama would fit right in with your goats, no problem!

Oh, if I can't have one then I hope Pricilla can! Gosh, she's lovely!

Do they spit? I thought I heard that they spit. I would not want one in my yard if they are gonna spit on me because that is gross. And not very polite. AND it's messy. :B

Lin: Thank you! We adore this little girl. Llamas do spit but not usually at people. Dogs bite and cats scratch - llama's means of defense is spitting but it is generally at other llamas during disputes over food or something else that irks them. Rarely do mine spit at humans and they always warn ahead of time so if somebody gets spit on, they were warned and probably deserved it. None of my llamas are ill natured and don't randomly go around spitting. You're right, it is GROSS! Smells horrid. YUCK

She is such a pretty thing! My human loves llamas. If she goes to a pet expo or fair, she makes a beeline towards them. And the baby goats.

Sparkle: Why thank you! I would say your human has excellent taste!

My goodness they get big so quickly! I suppose it helps that they start out good and tall, but she has gotten quite a regal figure.

I was just being wacky about the spitting part. If I had a llama, I would want it to spit over the fence at my neighbors. ;)
