In the Dyepot this week - Remington

Here's the latest out of the dyepots this week. I did a test roving on Colonial superwash wool to see if I liked the colorway I created. I really like it; it came out more intense than I anticipated but it works. I named this colorway Remington. It is the May Split Rock Ranch Roving of the Month Club colorway, available only to members of the club. Want one? Just purchase a Roving of the Month Club membership from my etsy store!

I am going to try some different colors soon to see if I can create what I orginally envisioned. I always say there are no dyeing mistakes, only fiber art you didn't plan on!

Peace Rose and Coral Rose Fibers - in Etsy Store

Today I listed three batches of fiber in my etsy store. All were dyed in the same dye pot using the space dyed method. I used Salmon, Sunny Yellow and Scarlet and 50/50 Superwash Merino/Soy Silk roving. One roving came out with a lot more coral and pink tones - so it became Coral Rose. One roving came out with peach/salmon/pink/yellow tones and it became Peace Rose. Some of the roving was in shorter pieces or the pieces became very wispy in the dye pot so I carded those up with some sunny lemon yellow superwash wool top to create the Peace Rose OOAK Custom Fiber Blend batts - two available. I love these colors together (in case you couldn’t already tell!) ;o)

Newest Colorway - Chocolate Berries

My newest colorway is Chocolate Berries - rich chocolately colors of chestnut and brown along with berry colors of russet, vermillion and burgundy - on luxurious soft fibers: Merino & Silk, Merino & Kid Mohair, Merino & Bamboo and Superwash Merino & Tencel. These look good enough to eat...but I don't recommend it, even if your doctor DID tell you to add a little more fiber to your diet! But, adding these to your spinning and felting fiber diet is perfectly satisfactory!
These are all available in my etsy store: http://www.splitrockranch.etsy.com/.

Happy Holidays everyone!
