I've been busy!

Believe it or not, my Mojo returned recently and I finally got inspired to get busy with the dye pots.

Here's what I made:

8 oz of merino/bamboo roving in my November Roving of the Month Club colorway "Christmas Snowflakes". This was a custom order by a club member so she could make a sweater to go with the socks she made from the original superwash wool roving she got in November. I love how these turned out!

I also dyed up a superwash merino/tencel 4 oz roving in my India Spices colorway.
And, a new member of my Roving of the Month Club suggested I add gold or bronze to my Peacock colorway. So, I dyed up this 400 yard skein of superwash wool/nylon. OMG I love how this turned out! It is even richer, darker and more brilliant in person - my photos do not capture the true intense beauty of this skein of yarn.

And, I decided to make a huge 8 oz 440 yard skein of worsted weight wool and silk yarn in a similar colorway only I added a bit of navy blue to the brilliant blue and used a different gold. Because of the yarn content this skein didn't soak up the dyes like the superwash/nylon skein did so it isn't as intense in color but I love how it turned out, too. Again, it is much darker and more brilliant in person than what my photos depict.

In the dye pot today: a gorgeous yearling mohair fleece in light red being dyed into a deep mahogany. This should be stunning! Perfect for doll hair, spinning, adding to a fiber blend batt, etc.

It feels so good to finally have my motivation back where it belongs!

New Colorways - Hand Dyed Yarns

Last week I decided to try a couple of new colorways (and one of my favorite established colorways - Sedona) on some New Zealand Wool yarns. These yarns are coarser than most of my other yarns but they soften as you work with them and they are perfect for knitting or crocheting items and then machine felting them (like the Peacock felted bowl I featured not long ago).

First up in the new colorways is Mum's The Word (above). Burgundy, Golden Yellow, Crimson, Yellow Sun and Burnt Orange colors are perfect for Fall knitting or crocheting!

And next is another new colorway - Atlantis (above). Rich and soothing watery colors of Sapphire Blue, Teal, Royal Blue, Emerald and Turquoise make me think of an underwater treasure - Atlantis!

And last but certainly not least is Sedona (above) one of my favorite established colorways. Rich colors of Aztec Gold, Burgundy, Chestnut, Spruce and Gun Metal remind me of the magical and mystical Southwest - perfect for Fall knitting or crocheting! The colors are washed out in the photo - it is much richer and darker than my photos could possibly depict.

Look What BohoKnitterChic Spun!

This yarn was spun by Brittany of BohoKnitterChic using one of my Monet Water Lilies Custom Fiber Blend batts. Spun into a gorgeous skein of coiled art yarn. And, this was her first attempt at spinning a coiled yarn! She named her yarn “Garden Tea Party” because it reminds me of a set of my great grandmother’s china. Thank you Brittany for sharing these photos - what an awesome job you did!

New Sock Yarns! Bronzed Burgundy

And now my yarns - Superwash Wool and Nylon Sock Yarns in my always popular Bronzed Burgundy colorway!

Available in a center pull ball AND in skein form.
Available for sale in my etsy store:

Another new fiber blend!

More new yarns and fiber blends!

First, my fiber blend: Glacial Ice (a re-make of my popular Glacier Bay blend!)

This is really a soft, lustrous, lofty and yummy fiber blend. This Custom Fiber Blend combines ultra-soft merino and lustrous tussah silk in snowy white with merino, corriedale and mohair in blue, green, yellow and white along with some snowy white Firestar to create this beautiful Custom Fiber Blend that we call Glacial Ice. Gently blended on our hand crank drum carder using a technique we have perfected to assure good color and fiber separation.

Fiber Content:
45% Merino/25% Tussah Silk/20% Corridale Wool/10% Mohair/ Firestar
The pics don't show the true color of this blend because it got cloudy by the time I got to taking photos of this blend. I'll have to reshoot the pics on a sunny day.
