Etsy Bloggers Blog Carnival

Today is the day for one of the bi-weekly Etsy Bloggers Blog Carnivals! We have to choose one theme or question to answer for this feature. I chose: 1) Your favorite food. What is it and why? If it's something you make please share the recipe.

My favorite food is pizza. My newest favorite pizza is the take and bake pizza from Papa Murphy's - Chicken, Bacon, Spinach, Artichoke Delight. This pizza is made on a thin crust with garlic white sauce and covered with spinach, grilled white meat chicken, bacon and chopped artichokes. Yum, yum! I tried my hand at making my own version of this pizza from scratch and it turned out really good.

I love to make homemade pizza, too, especially in the winter when I want to heat the house up with the oven and revel in the smell of rising dough. When I'm in a hurry and don't have time to make the dough from scratch I use a packaged dough mix that I buy at Wal-Mart - it costs less than a dollar here and the dough turns out really good. I bake my pizzas on professional pizza pans.

I worked at Peppino's Pizza in southwest Colorado Springs when I was in high school and my older brother was the manager of the restaurant. My parents then bought the restaurant and I worked there part-time while I was in college (along with a second part-time job). We made almost everything from scratch. We ordered pork butts and cut those up and ground them with spices to make the most delicious sausage I've ever tasted. We made dough from scratch in this enormous mixer. You would think that after working for years in a pizza joint I would hate pizza, but I still love a good pizza!

your favorite food?

I've never heard of this Etsy blog carnival but I'll answer the question anyway. :)

I've got way too many "favorite" foods but if you were to ask my mom or hubby they'd immediately say Macaroni and Cheese. Followed closely by ice cream. And pizza is a close third.

I just love carbs. Way too much. :)

i also love to make homemade pizza. sometimes i will buy frozen bread dough and use that for the crust, but most times i buy the packaged jiffy crust mix. i really like that one. hard to find in california though.

Casto: I'm not big on Mac & Cheese but ice cream, especially homemade ice cream, is way up their on my list!

PJ - Oh, good idea to use the frozen bread dough, except then you have to plan ahead, which I'm not big on doing around here! But it would taste awesome - closer to the yeast rise handmade dough we make at home and made all those years ago at the pizza place!

I would have to say my favorite meal is BBQ beef ribs, baked potatoes with sour cream/chives, and homemade coleslaw. My mom often made this from scratch for my birthday meal because she knew how much I loved it! Cake and ice cream are great, but are second place when it comes to BBQ...mmmmm

That does sound yummy excluding the bacon for this girl. I have fallen in love with Tai Pizza.

It is the first pizza I have ever eaten that has bean sprouts on top. Very tasty with the peanut sauce instead of tomato sauce :)

Your post so triggered off my desire for a piece right now :)

Mmmmm, pizza. Yum!

I don't know if I have a favorite food...I love it all!

The other night I made eggplant rollups with homemade ricotta and pesto. They were yummy!

We love pizza here too! My hubby makes such a great homemade pizza that he's spoiled me against any restaurant pizzas. Although when we lived in Loveland, CO we used to go to Beau Jo's Pizza in Old Town Fort Collins and that was delicious pizza! If we'd known about Peppino's Pizza I'm sure we would have tried it on one of our many visits to Colorado Springs!

ICE CREAM!!! I have to have it. Love it with dark chocolate Hershey's syrup and nuts. Blue Bell vanilla, Haagan Daz vanilla, either one.

MMM, pizza is yummy, but my favorite food is cheesecake.

Daisy's "mom" here:
My favorite food is pizza, too, and my favorite one comes from California Pizza Kitchen. The ingredients are: "Caramelized pears, Gorgonzola, Fontina and Mozzarella cheeses, caramelized sweet onions and chopped hazelnuts. Topped with field greens tossed in our Gorgonzola ranch dressing." Not exactly a traditional pizza, but delicious with a glass of white wine.

That sounds delicious! This post made me hungry for pizza. This is going to sound weird because it's not anything gourmet by any means, but my favorite thing to eat is a big bowl of Cheerio's. I eat them every single day, sometimes twice a day, and I never get sick of them. Pizza is good too, though. :-)

My husband would eat pizza every single day if he could. I find making your own pizza is very economical, and you can make it healthy using low fat cheese, vegetables, and chicken.

All this talk of food is making me hungry!!
My favourite food...mmm that's a hard one. I think that it has to be baked pototato filled with chilli!!

The only extra ingredient for me to add to your pizza to make it perfect would be mushrooms, preferably portabella. A local restaurant has a portabella, artichoke, roasted garlic, applesmoked bacon, tomato pizza with shredded basil....devine!

Our local grocery store sells "raw" pizza dough, enough for a whole pizza, for under $2! We use it for foccacia, pizza, bread sticks, pretzels, you name it!

I'd have to say my favorite food is seafood, mediterranean style, and something to do with pasta, though sushi is very high on my list. My favorite ingredients are artichikes, feta, shrimp, calamari, mussles, scallops, basil, white wine, parm. cheese, spinach, tomatoes -- mix them up with some pasta....heaven! Carrabbas ismy favorite place to indulge those foodie fantasies!

I too love Pizza, especially hommade with exotic ingredients. But I gotta say that lobster is definately # 1, with a good homemade cooked on the BBQ hamburger, close behind in 2nd place.Coming from Alberta, we have some of the best beef in the world, so steak is also up there!

Happy Monday chickey! My favorite food is whatever you're cooking that night. lol We've been on a pizza craze lately - more out of laziness than anything else - but I haven't tried that kind of pizza from Papa Murphy's. I'm going to order it the next time we go. :)

Thank you so much for your sweet comments - you are truly a treasure and I'm so glad we're friends. You make my days a little brighter and I appreciate it. :)

Have a fantastic week! xx

Thank you everyone for all your comments. In your comments I saw lots of foods that rank right up there on my list - everyone has great taste! Sorry I don't have time to comment back on every one of these but we're down to the wire trying to get three llamas groomed for the big show coming up Labor Day weekend so my computer time is very limited.
